Yinnette Olivo
as UX Consultant
As a freelance partner through an agency, I performed a comprehensive UX/UI audit of the platform’s legacy screens—identifying discrepancies in color usage, spacing, font hierarchies, and interactive patterns. From this analysis, I created a modular system of design tokens and core components within Figma, forming the foundation of a scalable design system.
The assets included buttons, tables, forms, and banners, paired with usage documentation and accessibility checks. I also facilitated onboarding sessions with internal stakeholders to demonstrate how to extend the system within a Storybook environment.
The client’s platform had grown organically over time, resulting in visual fragmentation and high rework cost across the design and engineering lifecycle. The goal was to bring cohesion to internal tools, customer-facing PDFs, and partner portals by introducing a centralized UI standard.
Internal teams frequently recreated UI elements from scratch, leading to inconsistent experiences and time-consuming QA cycles. Without shared foundations, even minor updates triggered misalignments across invoice PDFs, spreadsheets, and marketing assets. This disjointedness increased development time and UX debt.
Although the designs were not adopted by the client, the exploration led to a proposed system with:
• Centralized tokens to reduce visual entropy
• Component reuse that improved prototyping speed
• Figma-to-Storybook workflows to bridge design and dev
• Documentation that aligned accessibility and visual brand
Note: The above reflects early-stage exploration and process thinking, not final client deliverables. Visual elements were assembled from licensed UI kits, original layouts, and AI-generated assets. All assets were used legally under commercial licenses and for illustrative purposes only.
